Well, I dunno what to say. I was concerned about the electronic throttle control (as you later acknowledged but is worth pointing out to anyone who missed it it's absolutely NOT wireless. Cableless, but wired - a wire replaces the throttle cable).
Anyways according to a friend of mine I asked when I bought my car, who is a retired Ford dealer mechanic, these systems have multiple throttle position sensors and they have to agree on position or the throttle will be closed. He tells me it's MUCH safer than a throttle cable, actually.
Also, the computer logic on these Honda Fit's has been extensively road-tested and I've never heard of this. Thus I really doubt it's a software problem.
Therefore, given a physical sensor issue should be caught by backup sensors and the computer software. And a computer software issue would affect everyone... my instinct says it's a physical problem with the throttle butterfly itself... or possibly the control wire leading to it (though even that I doubt)
Again, I'm not a mechanic, that's just my instinct...
