Navi Joystick, MIA

Ah... so it begins. We haven't owned our new Fit for more than a week and we already managed to lose a piece of it. The upper right "joystick" popped off today and we have no idea where it went. I'm not even sure how it happened.... it could have been when the sun-shade was being taken off or being put on the front window. (It's bendy--one of those ones that folds into a circle-- and could very well have caught on the 'stick and popped it off without us knowing.)

I've searched the car, and I couldn't find it. I searched the areas where we parked, but I couldn't find it. (Not surprised, since it rained cats and dogs recently and likely washed it away if it managed to get outside.)

So..... what should I do? Do they even have replacement parts for things like this? Would the dealership replace it? Or am I better off just buying one myself and installing it. (Frankly, it'd be easy to do...)

It's just such a dumb thing to have happen for a week old car. I'm torn between embarrassment and annoyance.

No biggie. Just buy a new one. I'm not so sure the dealer would have this part in stock though. You could order it online and just pop it on there. The part you need is only $13.59. No need to be embarrassed or annoyed, Fitfreaks got your back!

Well, at least you are taking care of your Fit and trying to replace it. Good job! Lol.

THANK YOU REAKO! I was afraid it was one of those parts that, to get a new one, you have to rebuy the whole unit. So paying 13$ is nothing but a relief.

This is why I love this forum. Random stuff like this happens, and SOMEONE is BOUND to know the solution.

BayAreaKid, oh yeah I'm gonna fix it. When I get into a brand spankin' new car I don't want to see anything that says "already falling apart". I wanna keep it looking new for as long as I can.
