And.... what does it do? o.O?

Based on the name, "tq dampener," I assume it's to prevent the engine from trying to twist its way out of the engine bay when in (low?) gear and you are pressing the gas? I've seen engines rock around in the bay when the gas is pressed (even in parked or neutral), so I kinda see what its for.

I guess my real question is... any noticeable "improvement"?

Should reduce wheel hop, no? Our little engines do move around quite a bit. I think Honda softened the mounts to meet NVH requirements a bit too much.

That is because more of what you have is transmitted to the ground

My experience, though not in a Fit, is that these can make a difference. It's not going to help you smoke a Ferrari, but it can make acceleration a much smoother experience.

Maybe a slow Ferrari.

Nice piece of add-on. Maybe a cap on top of the open pipe? With an H of course.

Looks like someone might have just created a little side-job business. Well, if they wanted to. Wondering how it will hold up.

The only way I could think of improving upon this would be to mount one closer to the middle as far as the engine block/trans is considered.

My only concern is that by mounting it on the crank pulley side you have now created a pivot point. a second twin damper would be about perfect and keep things from twisting and transmitting yet more torque to the wheels, helping WOT shifts, and keeping wheel hop to a minimum.

Motor mounts would go a long way here as well.

But again, well done OP.

i thought about it but this is a natural pivot point making the engine's head strong enough with out breaking/cracking and to mount a dampener on the other side is no structure to mount it to with out re-enforcement to the tranny, i fear the metal might crack but u are right how ever my motor doent move at all and i mounted the shock level so it resisted more instead of pivot. some thought went into it however i recently made a rear under brace tying the 2 spring buckets together will post pics tomorrow

There are some parts you could make that there is a market for, like serious modders. Stuff like solid motor mounts, solid subframe, shifter and suspension bushings, catch cans, sway bar links and chassis bracing... Shifter knobs if you have a lathe that will let you tap threads.. I could go on and on haha

Hell you could make them for yourself first and then gauge interest! Take a picture of your spikey cap thing!

I think as it is, for 90% of users that should be perfect.

I'd love to see that brace!
