The cylinder head with the integrated exhaust manifold is awesome for cold starts. I had a Saturn Vue with the Honda 3.5 L which had the integrated manifold. Even when it was below freezing, it'd have heat from the vents in ~30 seconds.

120ps = 118hp @ 6600rpm

145Nm = 107 ft lbs @ 4800rpm

Not sure about the mpg; I think the Japanese standards are different than what is used here.

Re

Nevermind guys, the new fit will be ~ 1200kg, which is 2640 lbs, so I figure the heaviest configuration, which is AT and Skyroof is about 2700lbs - 2750lbs, current one is about 2400lbs-2550lbs. So HOW COME???? they're saying there is only a 22lbs increase? I aplogize if these figures arent 100% but they're close.

I like the new model. Yeah it's heavier but it seems to have alot more features then our Fit's.
I still like my 07' and wouldn't trade it for nothing...well.

I didn't think there was anything wrong with your comment. Some people like it and some prefer to differ. I don't think it's against forum rules to criticize the Fit as long as it isn't actually attacking people for having a different opinion on something as subjective as looks......anyways....

I'm not sure where that wikipedia article got that information from, but I don't see the new Fit weighing anything near 1200kg from the specification sheet on their website...unless i'm blind or something....and whoever made the pdf file needs to take some classes or something. I want to highlight, damnit!

This is me waiting for the, hopefully, 2009-model-year-in-2008 New Honda Fit

there is nothing wrong with criticizing the new fit...but saying something sucks because you don't personally like it seems like a poor reason to deem it so.

any way, i dunno where the above poster got his/her info from, but there is no way the fit is going to weigh that much. and we don't know if we will get the skyroof here in the states.

the 22lb figure was for the increase on the jdm fit. i don't see how that translates into almost 200lbs more for our fits.

LOl, well I guess you can't trust Wikipedia. As for the skyroof, I think we are gonna get it . Now I don't know squat about this sort of thing and for sure there are huge differences, but the Scion TC has a huge glass roof.

Actually I was going to wait to see what the 2008 JDM/2009 USDM Jazz/FIT would look like. All indications was it was going to look exactly what we all saw from the beginning. Once that was confirmed I knew right then and there that I didn't care what they put in it, Sky Roof, more HP, some sort of moving seat etc etc, I was going to get the 2008 USDM FIT cauz in my opinion it looks much better than the change it's going to get.

Plus everytime Honda or any other manufacturer decides to make a style change or what not, the price tag increases.

Sorry but I'm not buying a 20,000 FIT I'll be happy with the 15-16 grand FIT, plus all the aftermarket parts available to the current FIT because it's been out since 2001 makes it more appealing to me to modify and what not.

Peace,

i personally dont think the current model is a great looking car.
2nd generation looks better to me.... but i'll have to see it in person to know for sure.

i'm going to be buying one or the other, but looks arent going to be a factor in my decision.

Yeah, I've been researching it a lot and have seen some much better photographs of it. (Compared with the awful pictures on Edmunds, etc.) It definitely is going to look better in person. (And not in those ugly colors that Honda Japan keeps showing it in.)

I think it looks as good as the current generation one... Just different. But it's in desperate need of a spoiler to not look so darn mini-van-ish.
