Is there a maximum number of files you can out in a USB drive with the 7 inch system?
I have many songs in my iTunes library (19k) and bought a 128gb flash drive to store them on and to work with my 2015 EX. I initially copied about 30 folders from my iTunes library folder onto the stick and they played wonderfully. Seeing that this worked, I copied the whole folder structure from iTunes onto the disc. This contained about 700 folders and even more sub-folders. I am no longer able to play any music from the drive. I see the USB drive on the upper part of the display but am not able to select it as a source.
Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks

There is definitely a limit to the number of folders, but what that is, I've been unable to find anywhere. With my '09 Fit, the capacity was given in the owner's manual, but I haven't found it for the '15.
I split my 5,000 song music library between two 16 GB thumb drives and haven't had any issues.
One more thing to check might be your folder names. If the name is too long the car radio can't see it. If your top folder name is too long, the radio might not find your music files. I had that issue with several song files, and I had to shorten or rename them so they would play.

So the head unit in the Fit will read a 128gig flash drive? Awesome!
I listen to audio books and found that some file names seem to confound the head unit. Long names.... for example, I had file names that included the author, book and chapter name/number (pretty long), and it only played the first 9 files, never saw the others.
Here's the odd part... the filenames that worked are 60 characters long. Once I got to chapter 10,the filenames were not recognized at 61 characters.
So I renamed the files to simply 1,2,3,4,5....100, etc... and it worked like a champ since the head unit read the tag info out of the mp3 files for display.
Also, you gotta sort the file order on the drive with a program called drivesort. The head unit won't alphabetize the files, it reads them off in order they were copied to the flash drive.
Another annoyance... The random skip function only works in ONE folder and each time I power down my car, it goes back to sequential play despite showing that random mode is on. You have to toggle it off and back on to make it skip songs randomly. I gave up and just use the USB for sequential things like audio books and use bluetooth on my phone for music.
