True, the stock 08 is 55 offset but we did run into a close clearance with 7" rims with 55 offset on turns based on our wheel gage.
There are also a lot of people with 40 offset who do rub. Whenever you see things like 'I don't rub but I drive over bumps slowly' they probably go rub in the nite or using narrow tires (like 195). To avoid having those things that seriously affect your Fit's resale value you need to avoid any rubbing. Period.
PS putting 195 tires on wider than stock wheels seems like a big waste. The whole purpose is getting more rubber on the ground.
