The Paddle Shifters on the Fit, or any other inexpensive car, in my opinion, are a gimmick. They allow you to make a quick up or down shift of your AT as you drive but the AT can and will overrule your shift if the computer thinks you made a bad choice. The Paddle Shifters in an F1 or expensive sports car are hooked to a true MT with an automatic clutch.
If you want to shift gears get the Fit with an MT. I had my dealer check out the other dealers in the area to find an MT for me.
