Can the USB port on the Fit charge the Motorola Droid X smartphone?
Has anyone used the Fit USB port as a charger for a smartphone? I have a Motorola Droid X and I just want to make sure before I plug it in. I heard some blogs claim that it can only charge an IPod, not a smartphone, although I can't see why not if it's just a standard USB config with standard power pin config, but I don't want to fry my Droid X. Thanks.

It should charge but probably slowly... usually blackberrys, headunits and other things that aren't really meant to charge smart phones have an output of .4-.6 amps... now a days 1.0amp is pretty good and faster chargers have an output of 2.0amp...
You can usually check the charger and look for the output to see how much it puts out.
Good luck!

If the car is running first, then I plug in my Droid Razr Max last, it will charge, but very slowly. If I plug in the phone first, then start the car no charging - unless I unplug then replug the phone.
