Its personal preference. You can take a license plate number and find all the info of the owner, meaning the location of the car. Obviously the plate gets seen by people driving but how many people are going to remember or write it down but hwats the point of making it easier. If someone wants to break into your house are you gonna say why bother locking the door? It's piece of mind more then anything and its not hurting you or anyone else so in the end everyone is happy.

Yeah, I never blur my license plate pics in pictures. I do it when I post other people's cars, but not my own. I figure, if your car is souped up enough, people will recognize you anyway regardless of what your license plate number is.

I didn't know you could look up where somebody lives by their license plate though. At least my car is registered to a different address.

Finding people's personal info. from a license plate, like home address, isn't that easy. You can buy software that lets you find out personal info. like court records, etc., with just a person's name and address, but getting info. from a license plate does not work in most states. It does work in Texas, but does not work in California for anyone other than law enforcement.

There are three orange Fits in Anchorage, no point in blurring it out.

In general, thieves are opportunists. Your average thieve won't have access to the state department licensing bureau records/database. It's much more likely they would simply spot the car sitting somewhere, then try to steal it.

IT seems silly, to me. That's all I mean.

"Incognito" is over-rated!

Thank you.

IM<HO,

P.S. I could find out more about a person just by asking around! That's how I track-down slow payers and other dead-beats.
Just an idea, if I steal your locksmith Fit with all the goodies in the rear, can I then steal/break into just about anything? I realize there is a high skill level to it all, just thinking about it now so when I watch Law & Order the next time and they have this as a plot line I will know the truth.

Keep showing those Alaska outdoor photos and there will be a new blue Fit in the area with Alberta plates. Stunning nature, is it possible to get a bad photo?

And I thought the Yukon was easy on the eyes...

I haven't taken any in a while... This calls for a road trip! I do have one picture from a failed mountain climb, my climbing partner's face and water hose says it all.

-15*F at the base, traveled one mile in two and a half hours, then 200 feet every fifteen minutes. -25*F when we gave up on breaking trail through 2 foot deep powder that rendered snow shoes useless.
