Modified Mishimoto CF Intake

So when I got my Mishimoto CF intake from BDR on Fitfreak here, I had the problem of the engine stalk poking into the air filter. This wasnt a biggie as the filter was a bit tired and due for a change soon. The engine stalk eventually wore a hole in the air filter that comes with the intake so this forced me to change it sooner rather than later. I looked around and struggled to find a K&N cone filter at a respectable price. I eventually got hold of a BMC air filter + a hose/pipe with a 45 degree bend to eliminate the problem of the engine stalk poking into the airfilter.

The intake sound changed slightly, the car kinda lost its 'howl' a bit but still sounds kinda mean with the new filter. And just as a side note I experienced 5L/100km for the first time after I fitted the Mishimoto CF intake, this was on freeway driving but my best before that was about 5.8/5.9L per 100km on the freeway.

Wrapped the pipe with 45 degree bend in black insulation tape for aesthetic reasons (it was yellow and disgusting to look at before)

(Waiting for my VTEC badge to arrive so just ignore the i-dsi)

The whole 'fix' cost me no more than $70 for the new filter and pipe. Bit better than buying hood lifters.

Your hood prop is to the side of the bay and our is on the front.
This intake was designed for NA Fits.
Good solution for the problem through.

Where can I find this intake? Looking at a Dyno online it made 8 WHP and makes gains across the board not just at 3.5/4 RPM and above. Mishimoto's site says out of stock. I checked their distibutors and nobody has it.

Find someone who's selling theirs , and it does make a noticeable difference in torque, throttle response and top end...

I actually contacted Mishimoto. They discontinued the intake, I wonder why?

Maybe they weren't selling as good as they would have liked or maybe too much $$ to manufacture the kevlar material. I mean they are more of a Radiator company but an intake that made 8 horses was really nice.
