That's wierd, Car and Driver praised the Fit for its sporty precise shifter. But you definately can't go wrong getting a shorter throw.

yeah i think that the shifts are really nice and precise but the throws are just a little too long thats all

I wouldn't call the Fit's shifter a long throw, but good work in making it shorter.

I thought the throw on Fit was nice, short and crisp compared to the '86.

i would. my god, there must be 8+ inches of knob travel

what did you use as a spacer? just washers? how did you extend it? MIG/TIG? whats the diameter of the shifter its self?

sorry for the questions but i havent had time to take it apart yet.

Shouldn't that be AFTER making your shifter into a short throw shifter?

Might not want to drink too much while making it...LOL...never know what you might end up with!
