Factory stereo sound

I was wondering what you guys think of the sound of the Fit Sport's stereo sound quality as compared to other factory car stereos you may have heard. I have a 99 VW Jetta right now and the stereo is just about the only good thing about it. All stock. My wife's 03 Civic sounds good too. I heard the stereo on the base Fit I test drove and it really sounded like shit. Just muddy and boxy like too much 60 hz. Could have been a number of factors though. I didn't mess with the eq at all. I know that the Sport has a better stereo with 2 tweeters. I just hope I won't be disappointed when I get my Fit.

The best tonal quality is in the focal (I think it's called)setting. Since getting my Fit, it's mostly apart as I'm moddin' it.

Overall, it sucks either way. Do yourself a favor and replace the head and speakers with aftermarket like God intended. I wish there were radio delete options still instead of paying more for the shit I'm going to pull out right away.

it's much better than the stock AM mono radio that my '66 Beetle has... but that's about the best thing I can say about it.

So it's getting pretty good AM reception then? I haven't heard the old Beetle radios. anybody with any more modern comparisons?

I was beeing an @$$... it sounds pretty crapy. My previous car's (04 GTI) stereo sounded much better.
