Whats the difference between the two and which of you fitfreaks prefer more? Im looking into buying a double din touch screen and set up a good sound system in my fit, let me know your opinion between the two kits before i purchase it.

Check out the thread on the Scosche kit in the sticky above . . . I have yet to get around to buying a Metra & swapping it in, but it can't be any worse.
installer related as in some of them don't fit right and some of them do so the INSTALLER will possibly have to shave some plastic off. there's pics to prove it dude.
I can't find a positive review on it's fitment . . .
Some gappage is one thing . . . but when posts, clips, and screws are all the wrong length or size, that's not good. When stickers fall off 12 seconds after it comes out of the box, that's not good. When the a/c & defrost buttons rattle around because the space is too big around them, that's not good.
Maybe this is "normal" and comes with the territory in aftermarket dash kits? I dunno, I never experienced anything this shoddy on my previous 4 stereo installations (3 of them Metra kits, 1 a Scosche). I'm really curious to get a Metra for the Fit, see what the difference is . . . but I've got bigger things to work on for now.
what are the prices on the 2 and where to get them?
Both are roughly $50. Any car stereo website or store should offer them. Or eBay, of course. Crutchfield sells a Metra - half off if you buy the stereo from them, I think.
METRA- the packaging isnt really packaging at all. its a plastic bag. twice i had to send a kit back because the rear posts got damaged in transit. the color was wayyyy off from the color of the dash. the piece looked almost a green color but that didnt matter because i painted that part of the dash flat black. fitment of my double din headunit was pretty bad and it needed some dremeling to sit flush with the dashboard. it doesnt come with extra clips so you need to get those from the dealership. after a few months, the sun warped the piece and the corner sticks up now. my headunit has migrated to one side and when i open my screen to put a cd in, it rubs on the side of the kit.
SCOSCHE- the packaging is a real box with graphics of the piece printed right on it. looked much better when it arrived than the metra did. it matches the dashboard perfectly. the quality of plastic used doesnt seem that great. almost softer than the metra but i have a hunch it wont warp in the sunlight. i havent installed it yet but i know that i will have to do the same type of modification i did to the metra to make it sit flush. when i opened the box, i was dissapointed to see they didnt give me extra clips for it, but then i realized that they put them on the piece for me. pretty nice of them.
all in all, i havent installed the scosche kit yet, but it looks like a much more quality product than the metra is but only time will tell.
