AVIC D1 Install and Accessory Questions

First of all I’m a novice when it comes to audio equipment/install knowledge (as you’ll see when you read my post) so bear with me. Okay, now that we’ve got that out of the way…I recently inherited a used D1 and I had a few questions.

For Basic Installation:
I have the Scosche kit (bottom two posts have been modified) and I’m planning to get the Scosche HA10B Wiring Harness and Scosche HAAB Antenna Adapter. What else do I need?

Holder ?:
According to the D1 installation manual, I need to use a “holder” to install the unit, but it doesn’t seem right. Can someone please confirm? Please see page 22 in the manual.

iPod Adapter:
What’s the difference between the CD-IB100 and CD-IB100ii besides that the latter is the newer version? Is either one better/more suited for the D1?

Steering Remote:
Thoughts/opinions on the CD-SR11? Is there anything that you need to hook up to the unit (D1) itself?

Appreciate your help.

Is there anyone who can help me out? Perhaps current/former D2 or D3 owners. Thanks in advance.

Injundon will become famous soon enough
Scoche kit is good, wiring kits should make life easy, IB100 and IB100ii are different. IB100ii has a much faster iPod interface.

The "Holder" is a double din cage sold seperately from any Pioneer dealer for around $30. Steering wheel remote works well but not for nvigation. Just use the touch screen..in a fit the radio is within arms rech easily.
