Checked their site, and even thoug hit says $95, when you put it in your cart, it rings up at the intro price of $75. As soon as I get my Fit, it's going to be an early mod.
How is this compared to the shunk2 ones. I ask only because both products look the same and the price is almost double the price. If I had money I would get the Mugen SS since it is a one piece without questions.

I hope you meant,"NO plroblemos"!! This, along with their "Supa Sucka" intake kit were the first two things I ordered for my BBP Sport I am supposed to get next week. Them and the Mugen door visors, hood emblem, and arm rest ctr console (when our GB happens) are all on their way. I kind of went 'old school' with the shift knob, Curb feelers, suicide knobs, gear shift knobs, shrunken heads, license plate bolts, but it should look good with the Blackberry Pearl paint, don'tcha think?
I have an STi that I put a short shift kit and bushing kit on. The shifting is much heavier than the Fit but it was that way even before modified it, it's just the nature of the beast. Anyway the point is that heavy shifting doesn't bother me that much, but imprecise shifting does.
The Mugen rig looks nice, but they shorten the lever and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I actually raised the lever in my STi (via Cobb's nifty double adjustable lever) so that it is closer to my hand on the steering wheel. From what I'm reading here the H-Fit kit maintains stock lever height. Am I correct about that?
vinnimac does that shift knob thread right on or is it held on by a screw? i would stray away from it if it has a set screw and doesnt thread. but if you already know this and dont care. very neat lookin shift knob.

It actually has a rubber type insert with a hole in the bottom of it that threads onto the shift lever. Kind of chintzy, but works better than what I it would. I've given measurements to a guy at work, and he is going to make me a metal one that will fit into the shifter snugly, and the depth of the threads set so it gets tight when it is the right position. I keep meaning to take pics, but my real world life is crazy busy right now. I like it a lot because I can grab it a lot of different ways when shifting, so my hand doesn't get too bored with the same old stuff all the time. really

Roughly, all of it happens inside the car, and yes you start by removing the center console. I'm pretty sure you will receive instructions from H-Fit.
I ordered the whole kit a couple of days ago. I also ordered the Circuit Hero shift lever extension. I'm going to try them together; if I don't like the way it feels, I'll try just the short shift kit by itself. And if I don't like that either, then I'm either going to order the Mugen shifter or shoot myself!!!

it should come with instructions, its really easy. if it doesnt come with instructions you can get help here. it all happens inside the car, and yes you have to remove the center console which comes apart very easily.
Installed the H-Fit kit yesterday. Very straightforward, once you get those @#$$@#%^ buttons out that hold the front of the console in. Honda should be shot for using that junk! Aside from that it went smoothly. I was done in less than an hour.
The H-Fit parts are nicely made and fit very well. The instructions were complete and clear, once I rearranged the pages in the correct order. If there is any advice I'd offer to prospective installers, it is to definitely tap the adapter down onto the end of the lever ball. Tapping it with a plastic hammer caused the adapter to go on about 1/4" further and allowed the setscrews to bite into the shaft proper -- where they're designed to bite. Doo eet.
Shifting performance is definitely better. Throws are shorter and crisper, with a little increase in effort but nothing excessive; I swear the only reason I notice is because the shifting effort was so very light to begin with. Precision feels about the same. Rubbery feel in the lever is gone due to the hard mounts. I noticed no increase in NVH whatsoever, which makes sense given that the whole deal is cables and plastic to begin with.
I find plenty to like about the H-Fit kit, and nothing to dislike. It's well designed, well made, and works as advertised. I'm satisfied.
I'd still like shorter shifts, but that's probably because I'm comparing the Fit to an STi with a heavily modified shift mechanism. I may combine the H-Fit kit with a T1R lever, if I can find somebody who sells them...
