L8 APEKS is an unknown quantity at this point
I almost got spanked by a FIT?!

Hey gang,

I thought you guys might like this. I'm an "OG" car enthusiast, mostly euro. I just picked up a beater 1990 GTI for fuel mileage purposes (swap in a few months more than likely!) and I was cruising around last night getting a feel for the car.

I was behind a lowered Fit with stickers, exhaust, etc and he took off kinda quick...and I heard a tell-tale 'CHIRP!" from under the hood when he shifted. A Turbo Fit? Verrry interesting!

We line up at a light, and I roll down my pass. window to talk to him...he says the kit runs $4k, and it runs 5psi. I didn't ask what brand or what kind of power it made...maybe you guys would know.

Turns out those little buggers can be quick! He ended up getting a holeshot all 3 times we ran, but all 3 times I was reeling him in with 3rd gear (my bumper was at his rear quarter through 1 and 2) and would have certainly passed in 4th. I just couldn't get off the line fast enough.

In case you're wondering, my car is a 2.0L 8V (ABA engine from a 1996 Jetta...115hp and 122tq stock) in a 1990 GTI, with the close ratio GTI trans. It has an exhaust, but no chip (hits fuel cut at 6k)...uncertain on a cam but it probably has some sort of street cam in it; the idle is a little lopey.

If you're in SoCal and you see a beater black MkII GTI with the rear bumper missing and red paint showing through under the cheap black re-spray, gimme a wave!

KWSC's dont have BOVs like he described.
Anyway, Illgeal street race talk is against the rules on FitFreak.net.
