i'm running 16*7 +40, 205 45 16 and full coilover now. i think i can go to +36 or even <+36 and without rubbing, since i see there is a lot of space. any one got Photos of it or anyone try that before?
with the coilovers it's ideal you can play with the ride height to make sure there's enough clearance to not rub
and if you have camber adjustment you're in the green
you should have little (if any) to no problems at all
i keep 2 fingers all round. and i feel like it can go more offset without rubbing.

Sorry to be short but this morning we had a fIT drop in here wanting to know why he was rubbing his 15" tires on his fenders; claimed he only dropped 1" and had offset of 38 mm. Turns out he had 36 mm offset and was dropped to where his fender arch was 22.5" from the ground.
He blamed Fit posters for his predicament; really upset by our advice to get new set of wheels with 45 mm offset.

I have a +13 offset, but I have 15x7.

I think his car is dropped more then 1", I just measured my fender arch and with a 16" rime with a 45 series tire, lowered on Progress springs its 23.5 inches from the ground. What size tire is he running? The tire can make a big difference in whether or not you rub.

You're correct: 205/50x15. He's lowered 2.5-3" and it rides like it. Wheel travel looked like it was maybe an inch based on extension of the piston rod.
The stock height from level ground to top of the fender arch is 25" front and 24.75" rear. When your height falls more than an inch below those you need 45 mm wheels to run 205 section tires with diameter 23.5" (stock is 23.44") without rubbing. You can get away with 38 mm offset and 195 tires but its close.
One car we tried with 195/60x15 tires (24.2" dia) rubbed like the dickens with 42 mm offset wheels.Sounds like MN runs 205/45x16 tires. What offset MN?

He should try running a 195/50 or 195/45 size tire. I'm not a 100% if that will solve the rubbing issue but I think it will realy help or he might have to by new wheels.

Id suggest +35mm as the lowest. 16in wheels are different then 15in wheels.
Im actually on Skunk2 coilovers, not Teins. My other wheels are 16x7 +35mm on 215/40/16's. My fenders are pulled and rolled so no I dont rub.
Josh (gd3kamiwanab) is on Tien coilovers. His wheels are 16x7 +35 with 205/45/16's.

The small 195/50 or 195/45 tires fit OK but they are so small they not only look funny they yield 10% error in odo and speedo; on the worst side ( the readings will be higher than actual.

13 mm offset from 55 means moving the outside tread edge of a 16x7 wheel mounted with 205 tires about 2" outward from the hub face which the wheels/ tires in your photo aren't. Check your offset. Worse even with the shown wheels/tires there has to be virtually no suspension travel to not rub considerably. Any time the tread area is under the fender arch all you do is make a big gokart.
