ceramic tint ??'s

I got a quote for Ceramic tint for all windows of the fit. its $495
Its Huber Optik which is supposed to be THE name in ceramic window tint. I heard some great stuff about it from different people and the company that quoted me the price but I want to hear first hand impressions from anyone that has experience with it. I saw the Tint Description thread, but the ceramic tint was lacking in explanation and description

Does it really make the car that much cooler? I heard it blocks 85% of heat passing through the glass. Just wondering if its really worth the $500 tag

i wouldn't spend $500 on tint, ceramic film is good but fit doesn't necessarily need it because the antenna is external

DallasPete is on a distinguished road
I've had the choice before, and ended up with a high end metallic sputter film for $300 installed. Is the Huper better? Yes, but only marginally better than a high end metallic. It's up to you to decide if the extra $200 is worth slightly more heat rejection ( about 2-3%)

The other reason to go ceremic is a more OEM look - it doesn't give the windows a mirrored appearance. I didn't mind the mirrored look and went with metallic film.

back in the hay day.. tints used to fade..and ceramic tint was the best quality, since it never faded. but now with recent technology.. fading tint is not a problem. so no, ceramic tint is not needed.

Jaime is an unknown quantity at this point
I had mine done with ceramic you are talking about and it cost me $325.00 and this included a 10 inch band across the top of the front window. My Fit has a lot more glass than my last vehicle so I don't know if it keeps it much cooler. I do know that I went as dark as they make it and I can still see out much better than the metalics. Ceramics, vent visor and windshield shade work very well for my Fit. I even had "Blu Fit" decal ( I have TWB Fit )custom made that I put on the windhsield shade. Looks cool from the outside as it matches my License plate and 3rd brake light. I am trying to find TWB eyelids. Any ideas? Thanks
