99 accord check engine light flashing. what's wrong?
hi today on the way home from work my car jerked alittle while
accelerating. i thought nothing of it so kept driving. when i almost
got home the car jerked again when i acclerate and the check engine
light came on flashing. b/4 when check engine comes on it didn't flash
but this time it did. i know all about the loose gas cap but i don't
think that's the issue. what kind of damage am i looking at and around
how much it will cost this fix it? my can has 106k miles on it....
TIA

If the check engine light comes on the car is saying: Something is wrong
that MAY cause a catalytic converter failure.
If the check engine light is flashing the car is saying: Something is wrong
that IS damaging the catalytic converter.
Get the codes read and get it fixed before the cat gets destroyed.

Take it to Autozone, they will read the code for free, then you go from
there. Until you do that, nobody has an idea what's wrong.

If the MIL is flashing, that means you've got a recurring misfire.
Bring it to AutoZone to get the code read (for free). I'll bet you get a
P03xx code.
Could be anything from an air leak to ignition wires breaking down.

I would suspect the wires first, especially if it is intermittent.
Pull the plug(s) and see if it is fouled. That's free.

You mean P0303, not 303. The P and the leading zero are important.
You've got a misfire in cylinder #3. The ECU knows this because it measures
crank speed after each ignition event. It sensed that the #3 cylinder was
pushing the crank consistently slowly for the specified length of time
compared to the other cylinders, and so illuminated the MIL.
Check for an intake manifold leak with a propane torch. If OK, replace
wires with new OEM.
However, if the light is on steady now, you've got a new problem that may
lead you to a solution to the first P0303 code. Get that code read first
before spending money.
