Make sure you windshield is clean. If it isn't, then the best wipers are
going to smear. Also, if your windshield has a lot of scratches, nothing
short of a new windshield is going to help.

I'll second that the service at Paragon sucks.

How can that be? If people are willing to pay for it, then those same
people must think it has that value.

No one--NO one--is forcing ANYONE to go there for a $54 oil change.

If no one went, then they wouldn't have any business--and they'd lower
their price until they found the level that generated the business they
need.

So no one is price gouging, because there are plenty of alternatives.
They don't own the market. Anyone who goes there, does so of his own
free will. He does so because he doesn't feel gouged.

Paragon is charging the going rate for the people that walk in the door.
If people stop walking in the door, they'll lower their rate.

But until that happens, they'll keep the rate up and maximize their
profits--as any business will do.

anyone who would use an air wrench to tighten a drain bolt is severely
retarded. to loosen? i guess i could see that. ive got a set of harbor
freight offset closed end wrenches that work great.

I've never been raped in the ass by my Honda dealer.

In fact, my relationship with my dealer saved me $300 just a couple
weeks ago, when they waived the charge on a repair that shouldn't have
been required.

This is only about the tenth time something like this has happened in
the last 20 years, so....you kids may do business the way you like, and
I'll do business the way I like, and I'll come out ahead. But you'd
rather throw a tantrum and yell "the dealer sucks!" every time you turn
around; that's your prerogative.

My dealer is first-rate too. I guess there may some out here that are not
all that good, but I have not run into them yet.

care of it, they wont see you for at least 15 years. so they try to get
as much money as possible from you.

no, you HOPE I am.

Hey, Tony--what's the matter? You hate dealers so much, you'll go to
ANY lengths to make them look bad? Even lying?

When I has a fender-bender three years ago, the only aftermarket
replacement part I allowed to be installed was the bumper rebar. I figured
how could that hurt? It's hidden, right? WRONG!

It was the wrong SHAPE, and it pulled the bumper skin forward and down in
the middle, throwing everything else off! Replacement with an OEM bar
($400) fixed it. Insurance comapny agreed to pay for it too, but that took
six months.

Aftermarket has its place, especially if you know it's the same stuff sold
by the dealer, but under a different name. My rad and windshield are
aftermarket, for example. Such respected posters here as Mista Bone use
aftermarket extensively, but they also know what they're looking at.
Generally I don't trust aftermarket.

Fine and dandy. Doesn't change the fact that OEM inserts are better
than anything out there.

And I doubt he's scum.

All I have ever done on my 01 Prelude is buy the OEM rubber inserts for a
few dollars from the dealer. Works just great/

Same here.

Seems like we probably have a dealer-hater here; Slim probably never
even THOUGHT of going to the dealer to get the $7 worth of inserts.
He's probably spent $100 or so up to now, all the while thinking that
dealership are by definition evil or something.

In fact, what I've found is that OEM inserts work better--by FAR--than
anything else.

I just use Anco, but I am careful to clean the glass first.
Is your windshield speckled or pitted? That will eat the blades very
quickly.

Also, when washing the glass at the gas station, clean the wipers with
a paper towel. An amazing quantity of gunk will always come off.
I get about 6 months to a set.
