Los Angeles Mechanic Recommendations

Hi all,

I posted this in the Southern California sub-forum, but, wanted to also post up here as this forum has many more eyes on it.

Earlier this year, I moved from the East Coast where I had two great mechanics to call upon whenever something big was needed. I also had a driveway and jacks and tools and... to do all the routine maintenance that I enjoy doing. Now, I live in a canyon, park on a road that's less than 19' wide and have none of the above mentioned things (wrenches, sockets, multimeter, and a few other odds and ends aside).

The move has caused me to slip in my maintenance routine and the Fit is due for some serious love. On top of that, the LA roads and two trips back and forth across the country in the past year have killed whatever was left of the OE suspension.

So... if anyone in the Los Angeles area has solid mechanic recommendations (i.e. honest, willing to engage with you as a knowledgeable person, won't force their brand of fluids on you, allow you to supply your own parts, etc...) I am all ears!

Thanks!

To not be one of those folks who simply asks and doesn't seek for themselves... here are a few shops I found via Google Maps & Reviews. If you've read enough reviews, you can begin to tell which reviewers know what they're talking about and which don't. Then there are the shops that respond to reviewers, who are invested in their reputation in other words. And a bunch of other shit...

I've used these guys. They are great, and they also run a race shop out in Newport specializing in Corvettes. So I was very comfortable with them working on my small Honda. Not sure if they will drive up to LA though.

When I joined the Honda Insight forums not too long ago, I noticed EVERYONE on there went on and on about a guy named "Scott" from Jue Motors. People would even make the journey from the east coast, just to bring their car to this man.

I met the guy in person recently to buy some parts off of him, and I must say he lived up to the hype. Not only answered ALL of my questions, he even threw out ways for me to save money if I did certain things on my own , and even remembered MORE questions I had on the forum and went out of his way to answer those questions on top. I felt a sense of trust with him, and he did not appear to try to trick nor up sell me. Highly recommended

(Note: he is a specialist with insights. but I dont see Fit's being an issue for him. I'm sure that ASE certification would mean, that he should know all honda's)
