I'm super confused by this power issue, please help!
I'm driving an 07 Fit with almost 230K mileage, but she's been great to me until just recently.
So, back in the summer my belt came off on my way back from town, car was overheating like you'd expect. That was the start of my recent problems. I drove the car for a month or two when suddenly the car seemed to lose power steering while I was driving my gauges went haywire then disappeared completely. Made it home, and at first the car acted like it wanted to start but wouldn't. Checked the battery, it read 12.6 volts. I suspected maybe the alternator had been damaged when I put the new belt in, so I got a new one and installed it.
Now however, the car won't start, doesn't crank, has no gauges, headlights etc. I can't even shift it to neutral to move it; BUT my brake lights work and I'm still over 12 volts on my battery readings. Is this my starter maybe? The ignition?
PLEASE somebody tell me something. If you've got any ideas I'm open to them as I'm close to wits end.

Start in the engine compartment make sure your battery terminals are clean. . Go ahead take them off and put them back on. Then start looking at big fuses. Particularly the 80A on top of the battery (it's part of the terminal connection). Then the big ones under the hood. Once you track down which big fuse blew you can start searching for the root of the problem.
