How to disable 2007 Sport locking beep?
Recently bought a used 2007 Fit Sport, the horn beeps on lock/unlocking and it's annoying as all get-out and not exactly the kinda noise I wanna make when I come home at 11 PM. Haven't been able to find any way of disabling it—when I called the dealership they straight-up just told me "no." Seems like it's part of the security system? Short of removing that entirely (and I'll do that, if that's what it takes, I bought this thing cheap so I don't really care if it gets stolen), is there a wire I can disconnect somewhere, or something, to make this stop? Please help, I hate it so much.
Hi, Yes its annoying. I also have a 07 Sport and my key Fob locks the car when you depress the lock button on the key Fob AND when you depress it again or twice it will honk. I usually only pushed to lock once because you can hear the locking sound. That is how it is susposed to work. Are you just pushing the Fob once? Maybe a key Fob battery replacement which is easy to do. Good Luck
The honk on second press of the lock button indicates that the alarm has been set. If a door or the hood is open, it will not honk on the second press, as it cannot set the alarm. If you push the lock button only once, it will not honk, but the alarm still sets a minute later.
It does not honk when you push unlock.
If it honks more than that, the car may have an aftermarket alarm installed.

This is the easiest fix of all: Just click the lock button on the fob once to lock it. There's no reason to click it twice. You'll see the parking lights illuminate (if you need a visual cue) and also hear the locks actuate.
Hood latch switch was the cause of the horn beep
I have a 2008 Fit Sport. I also had the issue of the horn beeping when using the key fob to lock or unlock the car. I would press the lock button once and the horn would beep once, I would press the unlock button once and the horn would beep two times. I am fully aware of pressing the lock button twice will result in the horn beeping twice, this is normal, but I was only pressing it once.
Anyway the fix for me was to locate the hood latch switch (it’s a tiny microswitch) about 1 inch below the mechanical latch for the hood, and I unplugged it. The switch is apart of the factory security system, it’s normally closed NC switch, so when the hood is open the circuit is closed, so by disconnecting the switch I am leaving the circuit open and thus it tells the security system everything is normal and this fixed my horn beeping issue. I guess my switch has failed but I don’t care about replacing it.
Hope this helps someone.
