My 2007 Honda Fit Horn Doesn't Honk

I took my 2007 Honda Fit Sport to my local Honda dealership in Jax/Fl. And after paying them $39.95 to find out what was wrong with my horn not working. I was told the part would be $995.00 and with labor cost the total would be $1,135.00 plus tax Per Duval Honda I need a HORN SWITCH TO BE REPLACED AND RECHECKED. I can't believe this would cost this much and I told the service manager No thanks I will do without my horn. Has anybody had this problem and is this the real cost to have my horn fixed. Thank You

I suspect that the switch is part of the airbag assemble in the center of the steering wheel and not available separately. So, that $995 is buying a new airbag, switch, and steering wheel center.

I would take it to an independent shop and see if they can fix it by just cleaning the terminals or something less extreme.

Thank You I was told by my service manager it was only the switch in the airbag area and not anything else. So I will take it to someone else as soon as Florida gets out of this deep freeze.
