2008 Fit Sport - Saggy Rear End

I just recently noticed that the driver side rear end is sagging a couple of inches lower than the right rear end. I measured the tire to fender arch gap and it is definitely lower on the driver rear side. What should I look for? Could it be something as simple as replacing the rear shocks?

Thanks for the help.

Could be a few things. Bad shocks, worn or broken springs, worn out or missing spring isolators, or even swingarm bushings. You can take a look under the rear to quickly see the condition of the springs and the rubber pads that they directly press against.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to take a look under the car this weekend. I sorta already felt around the shock and looked it over for leaking fluid. It seemed dry from what I could tell.

I rotated my tires on Saturday and looked over the driver side saggy rear end. I didn't see anything obvious wrong. The rear shock did not have any oil leaking from it and the spring seemed fine. I also didn't see any bushings messed up.

Do you notice (or did you measure) any difference between sides at the front of the car?

For an older car, it could be as simple as differential wear-and-tear from long-term weight distribution, especially if you usually drive alone and/or are on the larger end of the weight spectrum. In addition, if you regularly carry additional cargo/weight in the car, and if that weight is often biased towards one side or the other, you would expect to see some sag on that side.

Hello. I doubt the problem would be shocks. Shocks are designed to bottom out and the only thing holding up your car are the springs. So I would say that something is up with the springs.
