Exclamation In need of help with a swap!

Hey guys! First post here, and I just wanna say thank y’all for this awesome community. I’ve owned my 2008 Sport for 3 years now, and have figured out everything I’ve needed to do to it through this forum. However, I’ve finally hit a point where I have to ask. So, here’s the situation. My CV axle ate up my transmission, meaning it’s time for a new one. I’m at a quarter million miles now, so I planned to replace it at some point anyways considering it is automatic. I believe it is time for a 5 speed swap. I know you folks strongly recommend against it, but it’s what I am doing. It would help me tremendously if someone could help me figure out a list of parts I’ll need for the swap. Thank you guys, this will help me greatly.

Do you have a 5 speed already?

Obviously the correct flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, clutch pedal, master cylinder, lines, shifter, throw out bearing, transmission mount, fluid, shifter boot and trim, and I am guessing you want a narrow brake pedal to.

I believe what I’m going to do is buy a whole manual fit as a parts car. Which i’m guessing most of which can shift over without a ton of extra work. The only couple things i’ve seen an issue people have had so far, is that you’ve gotta swap to an manual car oil pan, and the ecu and key from the parts car will have to match. Either way, those parts you listed, they should be clustered together for the most part if i buy a complete parts vehicle right? So theoretically given the correct cut outs I could just transplant them whole?

Sounds feasible to me, but I am not a mechanic.

I'm interested in hearing how this turns out for you.
