Exclamation Exhaust Manifold - Needed but Discontinued!

Hey all! I have a first gen Fit (2008) with 140k miles, and my exhaust system has some major leaks. I've been told different things by different people, but the long and short of it seems to be that the exhaust manifold I need is discontinued. One shop who actually took the time to call for the part discovered this, plus HondaPartsOnline.net and other online sources have it listed as discontinued, and a car friend called around for me and confirmed the same. (I've encountered a couple shops who told me I should be able to find it but I don't think they realize it is in fact discontinued.)

Some folks have suggested looking for salvaged/after-market parts, but not only have I had no luck there either, one shop vehemently told me that's a bad idea. Another shop won't work with them at all due to warranty policies.

Have any other first gen owners run into this? What did you do? Any suggestions on sourcing salvaged parts or mechanics in the Nashville area who might be able to help? I'm open to salvaged parts if the person installing feels confident it'll keep the car running for a while longer, but I'm not hopeful. Plus the value of this car is pretty low, between the age and the amount of wear and tear it's sustained, so it's hard to want to sink more than $1k into repairs. Seriously considering just selling as-is and moving on!

I assume your manifold itself is cracked? Must be cause otherwise why need a new one.

I was hoping to find the l14a1 VTEC was used in some other vehicles, but nope.
so I suggest looking up the part number and then seeing if that brings up any other matches off other engines, and maybe that will get you somewhere. But that was the first gen of L series to come here and I think probably your odds are not great.

i don't personally have a problem using salvage exhaust manifolds on a very old car. I mean, come on, it may be your only choice! It's just a piece,of cast iron, it doesn't fail by breaking anything else. A bit unreasonable for a shop to refuse to work on it when the part they'd be comfy warrantying literally isn't available. They should just waive the warranty, because yes, it could easily leak at the gasket (if it's warped) or crack again soon (if it was stressed before). Because it seems to be on the back of the engine, if it does fail again it is tricky to get at (I think).

I THINK I have a take off one from a friends Fit that's been collecting dust since 2008.

I'll verify when I get home and toss it your way if I have it. Just pay shipping.

Exactly! It's 15, er, 16 years old now, I'm not expecting it last forever and I am striking out on new parts.

Yes, I believe it was described as cracked. Some parts around it need to be replaced, too, but those all at least seem to be available, at least.

I did reach out to All Discount Parts to verify it is actually in stock...haven't heard back yet but fingers crossed!
