I bought a 2008 Fit LX recently today and in the process of looking around the trunk area for signs of water ingress (none current found but there obviously has been in the past. In the process, I took off the plastic door in the trim that accesses the rear drivers taillight. I took a photo and was surprised to see daylight peeking through from below!
What you see in the photo is the bottom of the panel with some debris and some fluid film I sprayed in there first. The light is coming from a small hole facing the tire. In other words it is bad but that is not the driveway you are seeing, just the light shining through from the right.
I took the trim off to take a better look and seems like a patch was made with wire and filler at one point and it has started falling out.
I know this is "not good." But it seems to be confined to the wheel well at the bottom of the C pillar and is not the rear stiffener. Is this a case of me needing to have something rewelded asap?
Anyone dealt with this before? Other that this area here, not much rust on the car for Canada though lol.
