2008 Honda Fit Aria (Vin: GD8-1400635) Oil on spark plugs.

Recently changing my spark plugs I noticed that there was oil on them. Can any one advise me on what this may be and provide the part numbers? A mechanics told me that I need new spark plug seals or to get an entire valve cover. I’ve also noted issue not sure if related where while driving the rpms would drop down continuously as if the car is taking breaths and would jerk. This happens most if I’ve been in one spot for too long with the car running such as on a drive through line. Another issue if I’m in one spot too long is that the car feels like it would not shift into gear to move forward and when I press gas it just revs high without moving forward then the D light would blink. Once I turn the car off and back on it’s usually fixed. Any ideas?

You do not mention how many miles on this car and how bad or well maintained has been. First thing first. What the mechanic is talking about is the valve stems have oil seals, and they may be leaking. Usually that means removing the head to replace them, but it could be done with head in place by other means.

Hesitation could be many things, including bad spark plugs, or bad coils. ......or was it doing it before you changed the plugs?

Transmission sounds like engaging drive is not very firm.......buy the Fit I own has a manual transmission, therefore I will stay away from talking about this because am not familiar with the Auto.
