Track day

Hey guys new here. I have a 2007 Honda fit automatic sport. It is my daily driver, but I’ve been really curious about doing a track day since it looks so much fun. Car is an automatic. What are you thoughts on using it on the track with that transmission?

I live in Atlanta and will be taking it to Road Atlanta or Atlanta motorsports Park.

I have a 2008 automatic sport. I have done 4 track days so far and the car has been great. It was so much fun! First one was bone stock except I had the trans fluid replaced as the car has 185k miles. Track pads, BC coilovers and 200TW tires made it even more fun. You get smoked on the straights by everyone obviously but in the corners I have beat ND miatas. And it's still my daughter's daily.

That is reassurung to hear. This FIT has a little over 250K but still drives and shifts amazing. I will do the due diligence and performaing a transmission service befor track day. Do you recommend using factory ATF ?

Also do you have any video on the track ?

Heya! You'll be fine with taking a stock GD on a track day. I'd just encourage that you replace your ATF if you haven't recently (ATF DW1 degrades rapidly after 3 years or 45k miles) or change to a more heat tolerant ATF such as AmSoil's Multi-Vehicle ATF (higher heat tolerance that ATF Z1 and DW1) or one of Redline ATF's options if you want a little more peace of mine.

I've ran my automatic 2008 at local Houston autocross events for about 7 years or so which were held at Houston's Police Academy as well as a test track known and Grand Sport Speedway. The car has been supercharged since 2016 (if I recall correctly, time flies) and has been fault free so far. I've yet to add an ATF cooler as of this time as well.

There are also B Spec prepped GDs and GEs that are driven by hand control drivers on road courses. They tend to see stints longer than 15 to 20 minutes on course so they tend to be equipped with ATF coolers to help keep temps at bay.
