H&R lowering springs

Hello everyone, I put Lori springs on my fit after installing the springs in the front. I’m experiencing some clunking noise after further investigation. The spring seems to not be completely under tension when the car is on the ground on the old struts it didn’t have a rubber insulator on the bottom of the spring only on the top do I need to add an insulator on the bottom thank you in advance. I hope this makes sense. Hopefully, I can figure out what’s going on.

Did you also replace the struts while installing the springs? Which part numbers (struts and/or springs) did you use?

Yeah replaced the old struts with a set of monroe struts and I used “51830” H&R springs my old struts didn’t come with any insulatiors on the bottom so I figured I didn’t need them

There's no parts shown between the spring and strut perch on Honda parts diagrams, so I wouldn't worry about that.

With the car on the ground, try turning the steering all the way left and right a few times to "settle" the springs.

The springs are supposed to carry the weight of the car - if one of them isn't under tension, some part of the suspension must be binding up and carrying that weight instead. You might also get that if only one lowering spring is installed - the anti-sway bar will transfer weight from the lowered spring to the stock spring.

I’ll have to try that again with these other struts I ordered since the treads on my new ones got all chewed up but I remember when I was turning left to right/right to left I don’t remember hearing anything but going straight you hear noises but I also remember that I was able to move the spring the right on the passenger side as if it has no tension
