Another alternative would be getting one of those 3M clear bras installed. You won't have to worry about the paint fading or getting scratched up because the clear bra will give it the protection. The problem with that solution is finding a place that does it. I know a couple of places in Vancouver do clear bras and you really need somebody experience to do it because one mishap and that could mean a air bubble in the middle of your car

I thought about the protective film, but I wonder how you wax it??? I can see the edges of it being a problem...obviously you wouldn't need to clay it...and wax probably won't stick.

I think I'd rather start saving for a front re-spray in a few years. I enjoy polishing my car.

$475

It's the labor that costs and if they are already doing your car, a little more material shouldn't be that much more expensive. In for a penny, in for a pound. Get it all done, and keep your beautiful Fit pristine.
From what I gather $475 installed is a deal! Grab it but grab it the first day before the damage starts. Again, I don't own a clearbra, but from what I gather there are clearbra "issues" as well. Waxing, uneven paint fading, seeing the edges etc. I think $475 the lowest installed price I've heard.

For the Ventureshield there is a special type of protection/wax spray called Plexus. The shop that did the job gave me a can.

That is a crazy low price. For comparison, I'm in Canada and paid $900 cash for: entire front bumper/lower lip, headlights, entire front hood, entire front fenders, and side mirrors.

Yeah, you are paying more for everything up there, it seems...

I am not sure your product is the same thing, however. It might be thicker or more high-tech or something. I think the quote I got was for a 3M film.

But now your car is EXACTLY how you want it, and it does look hawt!!

My car has been driven for at least 6 mos. now, not by me, but by 2 dealers, countless test drivers, one other owner and now me. It doesn't have chips on the hood that I can see, fortunately. I am still going back and forth about the clear protective film. I need to go back to the installer and have him show me a car that's had it done. I need to know about waxing, washing, etc. and what happens if a rock hits it and dents the metal...what then?
