I can't imagine a car being slower than the GD3. Mine is a dog.

i think it's the darn 185/55/16 tires...

i'd lower it for cosmetics and swap them out for
195/50/15's and it will be a tad faster than our GD's... i thinks.

lol oh man... i just checked out the ge8 sport today i am sooooooooooo glad i didn't wait a few more months! its SO UGLY! haha you have to see it in person to appreciate it. there are so many odd curves all over the place on the dash too i wouldn't be able to stand it. its just really ugly.

i stood there for a while too just trying to think, what mods would make this car really look good? its just going to look goofy no matter what you do to it.

The gear ratios were adjusted per that stupid new tire size.

Glad to see the 09 is a dog.

Kinda makes me giggle to see the $19k MSRP for an Econo car.

Tire size change is cheating.
All youd have to do is put a better size on the GD3.

I wonder what motor responds to mods better?

Wow, thats amazing. Must have been a fluke?

In the same article they say this-

" The specifications tell you the 2009 Honda Fit's 1.5-liter inline-4 engine makes only 1 more pound-foot of torque at its maximum of 106 lb-ft at 4,800 rpm, but it's everywhere else in the rev range where the Fit's engine feels more responsive.

Where the previous version of the engine felt lethargic and in need of revs to motivate this 2,500-pound car, the new Fit inline-4 gets with the program from as low as 2,000 rpm. It's easier to drive more of the time, so you no longer feel the need to rev the Swiss out of it. "

Hard to base anything off one test.

Motor Trend has 0-60 in 8.3 secs tested for the 09 Fit Sport Manual.

and.. 0-60 in 11.9 for the 07 Fit Sport Auto in their econo car test.

C&R tested the '07 Fit MT at 9.0 sec, 0-60mph

Besides, straight-line speed is never going to be the Fit's forte.

The steering wheel is all I would swap into my car . . .

That's about it.

It's slower...but unless you are into racing all the time. Those extra seconds won't mean anything on your commute. I'd be happy driving either model personally. The only thing I don't like about the new Fit is the center NAV section of the dash. It almost looks like they ran out of time and said screw it, this fits (no pun intended), release the car. They did a nice upgrade to the look on the drivers side, as well as the passenger. The center part, designed by the intern.

2 cents.

Does this really matter? The fit isn't a fast car period. If you're wanting then you might want to look elsewhere. I do suppose the brakes could be a handling/safety issue though. Not something I would worry about if I had an 09 though.
