Springs or Progress bar?
Are the coilovers a smoother ride than springs alone? My understanding is you compress the springs making them harsh the lower you go.
Hmm...yes, I did ask for opinions. I've read many opinons about the Progress RSB's and all seem to be positive so far. The problem I have here in the great white north is the roads get chewed up by the salt that's dropped along with the winter plowing. Makes for a rough ride. I'm just looking for a bit of better performance in the handleing area without sacrificing ride quality and being too low.
I could be convinced springs are a good choice if: springs could be bought that would give me a minimal drop for a nice look, and reduce the roll of the car. Secondly, provide a ride quality close to stock.
I have a friend with the H series teins and they provide a nice ride but didn't reduce the body roll and sagged in the back after a few months.
Does someone make a spring for the 08 fit that provides a minimal drop and still provides a comfortable ride? I did see that Tanabe offers a spring for the 09 models but is there anything for the 08's that would be comparable?

*edit* uh oh, actually I'm not sure if they make NF210 for the GD Fit. but the swift springs are a very slight drop also, its like F:1.2 and R:1.0 You should look into it.

you're not going to lose with either one, but like mentioned earlier, the RSB is very inexpensive to include the labor to install if you aren't doing it yourself.
considering you have more snow than most to deal with, the RSB literally has zero downsides in comparison to springs that will likely lower your car. i also believe, though, that you'll notice the effect of the springs more than the RSB (i have swifts, they are fantastic) but you'll have to pay more and deal with reduced mobility at times.
ultimately, get both. but if you have to get one first, just get the RSB. it's cheap.

Given your conditions, the smart thing to buy is the RSB. I have both GF210 and RSB. I installed both of them at the same time so I really don't know the difference between stock w/ RSB or w/o, but I know for sure that the RSB really helps with cornering. It keeps the end of the car really "flat" on quick, tight, sharp turns. The GF210 has a moderate drop but the ride is noticably stiffers. Still tolerable though. I just road tripped my Fit with the springs and the RSB installed and the ride was comfortable, I forgot that I had afternarket springs on. But in the end...... RSB FTMFW!
wow i got the same set up lol i had the Tanabe GF210's and RSB too. I would got both just because i didn't want to get one and test it then have to go back and redo some parts so i bit the bullet and got both and installed both at the same time.
really... i dont need the rear bar while running my endura-tech's.
