This is a community and just like in your own neighborhood you might not get along with everyone on your block. I 've been on this forum since 02/07 and I know when I got my car I probably posted the same questions that have been posted a dozen times. The search is a great tool but sometimes it is easier to ask than to search and not find the exact answer to your questions. These guys/gals are cool and the forum is a great place to learn about your car. Let us see pictures when you get your rims done so we can see how they turned out.

Ohh boy. It isn't that this is the second or third time or maybe even the 5th time this has been posted but this is probably 10plus times this has been posted. I used the search feature and within 4 pages found 8 different topics on this subject. Like I said not trying to be a dick just saying it the way it is.

It has all of the pics I could find of stock wheels. The only ones I couldn't find were the white ones on a black fit and I believe there is a guy that did some brownish color.

I have painted my stock wheels and if you have any specific questions feel free to pm me I have no problem answering questions.

seriously fitcapo was easy on you, join any other car forum and you will get flamed beyond your wildest dreams for not searching, seriously i've done it

 

just thought id let everyone know that i painted my wheels. i did 3 coats of flat black. it looks pretty good. in another week, ill do 2 more coats, and a couple clear coats. so far so good!

 

i did this with some older gram lights,, I softened the old paint with some acetone, it worked well i put over 30k miles with only minor chips. I did the backside first then flipped them and several light coats and one heavy coat. I used the gun metal and a prepped them with a scotchbrite pad.

 

i want to see someone pull off white...

 

We've been doing for more than 20 years for our race cars. Any good hard coat like spray epoxy paint works well PROVIDED you clean the wheels well and truly both chemically and surface. When you paint do it so it doesn't run on you. And you need paint only the front side.
Some of our people go nuts with crazy combinations of collors on the same wheel. Many get striped the same way and especially those reflective stripes around the wheel near the edge do look kind of catchy at night.

 

Done all the time with epoxy appliance white.. i'll see if one of our photo guys can get a photo for you. (see other post for details).

Nice flat black. But gunmetal would've looked awesome too.

 

yeah, gunmetal would look pretty good....... i like the flat black. i still have two more coats to do, then im gonna clear coat them. the clear coat may cause them to "lighten up" a bit......

Nice, looks really good in flat black. I also like how you took the fogs out. I ran without mine when my girl exploded a fog housing on the freeway. I really wanna do gunmetal powdercoat to match my accord coupe and bike. A nice common theme.

 

that sounds cool. i may go ahead down the line and have the wheels powder coated, but for now the paint is holding up well and looking pretty good. as far as the fog lights go, i was just trying somthing different..... at least for around my area..... i may be putting them back on soon. they deff. make a difference at night!
