difference between 07 and 08 wiper blades?

I have heard that the wiperblades were revised in 2008 for the USDM Fit.

What's the difference? spring strength? materials used? What is it?

there is a difference between the 07's and 08 wiper blades.

the rear is the same but the fronts are competely different.
i believe honda started using the 08's blades on some of
the last 07 production lots though due to people crying
about chattering blades.

and to confirm, 08's and 09's are very different.

ken's right, but i got a late 07 and got the 07 wipers anyway.. maybe dealers were putting 08 blades on, but honda would make note if they were gonna use them on 07s at the factory.. or i wouldve found out, at least

But, what is the difference... is it a visible difference or is it something like what materials they used?

Not sure of the exact differences, but I rode in a buddy's GE8 recently, and the right front blade was so small it may as well not have been there.

The front wipers on a 07 fit are a one peice design, the 08 fit has a 3 peice design and yes they are made from different plastics.

There was a service bulletin about wiper chatter on '07s. My dealer replaced my wiper arms, not the blades. I assume the replacement arms were the '08 ones.

A difference between 07 & 08 would certainly make sense given the mixed reviews I've read on the stock wipers . . . The ones that I had on my '07 I certainly thought were garbage. I had the car less than a month before I replaced them with some aftermarket frameless ones - about 2500 miles on the new ones, and they've been great. But when they're eventually due for replacement, I'll definitely take a look at the newer design, as inserts aren't expensive at all.

In related news, finding a replacement for the rear wiper (without breaking down & going to the stealership) has been a total pain in the ass. I finally ended up ordering one from [url]www.slhondaparts.com[url].

Bernardi has them for $10.69 + $9.37 UPS to 06897, with the insert included...

Or did you mean the motor and arm, too?

CanTire still had no replacement for the rear. I took the old blade out and matched the slot size/shape and got one that I used a hack saw to cut off approx. 1". Works fine.

Nope, just the blade. Only came to about $12 shipped from San Leadro, which is why I went with them. I've ordered stuff from them before - they're not as quick as some of the others, but for small orders their shipping prices are usually the lowest.

Yeah, it does piss me off when shipping is more than the part is worth. I tend to try to combine everything some times with web orders just to keep cost down.

Along with the rear wiper insert I'm also ordering front inserts, air filter and a cabin filter at the same time, so the shipping is less than on a per item basis.
