help needed!.. wheel bent

ya so saturday night i was in hungington beach, didn't know the area that well, and ended up hitting the curb of the median while making a left hand turn. so... broke clips and stuff on my bumper, popped out my sidemarker (fixed already), popped the tire, and bent the rim. nice.

rollin on the spare lol

so... is the rim fixable? if yes... how so? and i need some good, sticky tires for a reasonable price (205/50/15 or 205/45/15) what do you guys recommend?

thanks!!!!

I've sent a motorcycle wheel and a forged car wheel to Wheel Medic Inc in Ohio. The do good work, like $110 + shipping.
Should be a few good places in Cali.

Just me, gettin ready to buy wheels again and fug it, gonna go ahead and buy 5 and get it over with. Roads here are sh*t after this bad winter.

Yours isnt too bad, they reheat & reshape, reweld if they need to.
They rebuild nytro fuel motors after rods have blown thru them, so your wheel should be cake

.

looks repairable...but most places can charge $150 or more + shipping if not local.

might be better just getting a new wheel. i feel your pain,
i curbed my BBS for my other car a few weeks ago.... was a
quick way to see my money get flushed down the toilet.
hahaha. (i just bought a replacement wheel with new tire wrapped).

I've used these guys with good results.

Wheels America

Not a cheap date tho. I had some vintage BMW alloys straightened and painted. Really nice job, but $$$!!

The problem, they said, is that sometimes they have to paint the wheel after repairing it and then it won't look the same as the other wheels. They recommended I repaint all 4 which was okay as they were a bit scuffed up anyway. Maybe because your wheel is newer they could match it.

Oh - and they are local to your area.

+1, your weight, drivewheels, and steering is up front, just a safety thing.

But I can't find anywhere that fixes bends, due to liability issues of rim breaking or being structurally weak after repairs. Anyone know any Bay Area spots that can fix bends? I have sets of rims just chillin that have bends in them.

im gonna fix these. thats what ive decided. im not entirely sure how to, but im taking them to my family's friend's tire and brake shop that he owns, so he'll help me out.

im rolling on stockers for now but since my stocker's tires are practically gone, ill just put tires on the buddyclubs.

problem 25% solved

uh.... i would just get a rubber mallet and pound that back out. the dent doesnt look that bad and i would be willing to bet that if you spent about 2 hours you could get it right beck to where it was.

i have done that before on rims. the main concern is that there are no cracks in the metal and that the tire forms a seal on the wheel.

ya thats what i was thinking. the wheel is durable enough. its cast i think, not forged.

forged wheels are stronger than cast but the bent part just looks minor so it should be no problem if you just take your time.

a cast wheel is better to be replaced then repaired.
