Increase Performane??
Over here we get Jazzes with the VTEC engine too. South Africans get the VTEC engine too. No difference.
In Japan the Fits also come with the gutless 82HP twin-spark. No difference there either.
It's just a damn name. No badge is better than the other.

Well about the fast car, I know I dont have the money, and time to do a turbo or supercharger. And the suspension, I dont think ill be driving tracks anytime soon. So there are no substantial changes I can make until im ready for the turbo or swap? I appreciate all the help. I guess ill try to do a few little cosmetic things until im ready for the big things.
Any little hints to stand out on the body would be appreciated, that arent too demanding on the pocket (from the stock, sport Fit).

If you can't stand slapping on wheels larger than 15", dropping the ride height will make the car look good too.
Just be wary of wheel offset if you don't want any rubbing with a loaded car. +45 and above are your magic numbers.
My 0.02
Nope, it ain't as clear cut as you think.

A lot of these guys are right about the I/H/E combo, you won't see much HP gains with them. You gotta go forced induction or Kswap. The biggest increase in performance would be spring/shock combo and wheel/tire combo. We all bought an econocar that happens to be a great handling car. The Fit is slow but it is quick, if you know what I mean. Save up your money for spring/shock/wheel/tires to get the most out of the Fit for the least amount of money. Happy modding and later days.

and yes if want to see really impressive figures for this 1.5 you have to forced induction with the L-series. However for a bit more get up and go, not to mention so some nice noise, I/H/E would be good and within your budget depending on which brands you go for.
You can also save a bundle and buy most of your parts used in the classified section of the forum. To date I think I have saved something like a thousand dollars buying second hand mods. And when you aren't paying the heavy premium of new stuff the fact that you aren't doubling your WHP (wheel horsepower) won't hurt so much. Bolt-ons are fun and relatively cheap ways to add some personalization to your Fit. Will you be able to run down Evos in it? No, but its still fun and uniquely yours. Good Luck and welcome to the site!
If you want cost-effectiveness, boost is your best option for more power.
Even on a humble L13A3 i-DSI engine, 8 psi of Garrett GT15-supplied turbo boost does wonders, doubling the stock 60 WHP to a much more useful 120. Doubtless the L15A VTEC engines you get in the US have more potential. Conservative boost will get you the same 60 WHP bump, with more aggressive tuning giving even more gains.
K-swaps are good and all, but are pretty pricey jobs and they do require some cutting into the frame, as per Hasport's K-series GD Fit engine mount installation manual.
