Engine rattling noise

I have a 2008 honda fit sport with auto. For the past three months I notice my engine rattles when I'm speeding up, it sounds like when you use cheap gas. Has anyone else experienced this problem. I usually fill up at walmart/sams or HEB. I just filled up with Texeco 93 ocatane to see if that was the problem.

sounds like a clucking or pinning noise. I don't believe it's from the dash. It sounds like when you put regular unleaded in an acura that requires super unleaded.

Is this a first generation or second generation Fit? This section is for 2nd gen.

Use the octane that is recommended in the users manual. You don't need as high as 93 octane fuel.

I filled up with Texeco 93 octane and the noise has completely gone. Since this is my first honda, I wonder if they are very sensitive to other fuel than name brands like exon, Texeco, chevron. I know all acuras are supposed to use super unleaded and they are made by Honda.

Never had a pinging (or any other problem) problem with regular gasoiline. I do stick to the (Honda recommended) Top Tier brands, not for octane, but for detergent levels. Top Tier Gasoline If your pinging problem persists with regular gasoline [maybe try other brands (name brands) of regular], I would have it checked by your dealer, that's what warranties are for.

I had this problem with one of my old vehicle, turned out the fuel pressure regulator was bad.

I would say try to keep with name brand gasoline, what was the gas that was pinging?

I'm quite shocked I realised that we pay a lot more than you guys for petrol but at least the standard is 95% octane and premium unleaded is 97% no wonder my honda likes the UK market 105mph in 4th gear lol topped it at 131mph (downhil) lol

You need to go on some of the threads that discuss octane ratings..... For some reason people think their Fits perform as well on 87 octane and that people that spend 20 cents a gallon more for 93 octane are out of their minds...... Everyone in the world has better fuel than us and yet people wonder why we can't get decent high performance cars shipped to us

Try to stick with 1 gas station you trust. You would be amazed how many customers I get with engine noises that turn out to be bad gas in their car.
