What on earth is this grid I see on my back window?

Yea, another way to see it, is put on some polarized sunglasses and prepare to trip balls. It gets all rainbow-y and psychadelic. If you change the angle of your head, the colors swirl as the two contrasting polarizations change light aperature. It works as a light filter to restrict glare.
