Indent above glovebox?

Anybody else look at this indent above the glovebox on GD3's and wonder why the hell it's there? I couldn't even think of a purpoce for it other than to hold a pen or something. And, even if it holds small items, they would fall off when driving.

Thoughts anybody?

I have 2 pens there. It's really annoying, the rubber makes it hard to clean. Oh well.

<3 Pocky lol. Yeah pens are a great thing to have on you, and it's the perfect spot for them. Tire pressure gauge is a great idea, too. Good thread. What else can we put there?

Just so you know, that rubber tray can be easily removed, cleaned and reinstalled. Just open the glove box and peek underneath to see how the tabs are designed.

i put my change there sometimes. it never falls because it's not like our fits have whiplash inducing acceleration. my friends put their keys there. one of my friends usually takes her sandals off and then hangs her toes in the groove. it use to annoy me when the car was new but i don't care anymore.

Really, it's the first thing I notice when I test drove it. I was like "Does thing even serve a function?"

I keep my spare glasses and my sunglass (clip-on) case in there, along with pen or two. The rubber comes out easily for cleaning and takes no time to reinstall.
