New clutch...

Got a quote from the dealer of about $1700 to replace the clutch on my Sport. Laughed at them, and got a quote from the independent Honda/Acura specialist in town of $1100.
Discuss? Am I still getting ripped off, or is that pretty reasonable?
$400 for parts seems about right to me. $700 for labor might be a little steep, but it beats the $1K in labor the stupid dealer wanted.

I'm not really sure on the costs of a Fit but way back in the day I had a 240SX and it cost just a tad over a grand at a Nissan dealer for a new clutch. With the Fit I've been saying that when it is time for transmission work I'm going the full nine yards with an LSD. If I'm going to pay some one to pull the transmission apart I might as well have a bunch of work done.

Costs quoted are all over the place but this may help:

Front-wheel-drive and hydraulic actuated clutches cost more than rear wheel drive and mechanically-actuated clutches.
