It's not in the manual that came with the car... it just says inspect.

It's totally up to you, but honda does not list a time to change in the manual, it's safe to say the interval is not less than 100k miles.

Personally I'm going to change mine at about 100-120k or when it starts squeaking or cracking, whichever comes first.

You wont be getting an apology pal. If you can't figure out when to change your belt I doubt you know how so maybe you should just pay someone to replace it for you.

It depends on the belt that you are talking about. If you are talking about timing belts, the GD3's do no have one, the GD3 has timing chains.

Since a Fit only has one belt, one could assume that it is the one Black01 is referring to.

i asked this a week ago in another thread. I have 63,000 on mine and it's not sqeaky or anything. I have not looked REAL close for cracks but just thought with that many miles it was due. I seems that the majority feel it is not nessesary to change it very often but I beg to differ..the belt is way expensive (about 38 bucks) and that is more than the average so maybe it is a longer lasting belt. I myslef am just looking realy close for cracks and then its time to change.

Since oil companies stopped leasing out service stations and there are only self service convenience stores and chain stores selling fuel and not providing service, belts, hoses, spark plugs, ignition parts and other serviceable parts sure do last a LOT longer..... I changed the serpentine belt on my wife's 95 GMC pick up 3 years ago at about 120000 miles but it probably would still be in service if I hadn't..... I wouldn't even think about it until at least 80000 miles unless it is squealing or appears to be dried out and cracking.
