Extended Warrantly Transferable to New Owner?

Hey guys I bought my 08' fit sport used in July of this year with about 12,000 miles on it. It was a trade in at our dealership so I was able to pay right around 8500 for it, the trade in value. Car was a bit whipped from the first owner, obviously just didn't care a bit about the car. I did find an extended warranty for the car and I think it's an some odd year, 80,000 or so warranty (I haven't looked at it since i came to school in September and I left it at home by accident). I called the dealership where she purchased the car (Motorworld in Wilkes-Barre) and they told me flat out that it is non-transferable. I thought I read somewhere that it was transferable, but can't find anything with the search. Any help is appreciated guys thanks!

Look at your papers you have from the vehicle... and may be too late now, but ALWAYS read your contract before you sign. The devil's in the details.

I am thinking the lady didn't get the refund or anything since all the original paperwork was still in the glovebox. I actually didn't sign anything since the fit was traded in on a Dodge Caliber at what was my family's Dodge dealership (who knows why the fit is a thousand times better than the caliber I drove, minus the AWD).

I called the Honda dealer it was originally purchased at, asked if the extended warranty was transferable, and got a sharp no and that was it. Tha's why I am trying to see if they just don't want to honor in the future or if that is actually the case.

You will have to wait till you get your paper work and simply read it. Some where in the contract it will state whether it is transferable or not.

Yeah, dont ask the dealer about extended contracts, they dont know or care. They already have their money. Call the contract administrator, they will know.
