Last Thursday I bought my wife a really nice 2010 Honda Fit Sport with 47k miles, A/T, brand new tires. So far we put roughly 300 miles on it and it is flawless.

We bought the platinum extended warranty for 3/36k for roughly 1500. The car was 7400 after trade in. I am debating if I should cancel the warranty as its a Honda and we have owned literally 5-7 accords and Oddyessys. My wife will be doing all HWY miles as its for work. Also we put roughly 20k a yr on each car so I feel the extended warranty will be a waste. There is a 100 deductible so In essence should we cancel the extended warranty?

 

For that price and mileage, maybe.
The one I got on my '13 was only $1161 for 6/72k miles, which is worth it.

 

seems like a lot to me for only 3 years. you can cover a lot of problems for less than $1500.

 

Quick go get your money back. It is a Honda. What is going to break that will cost that much?

 

My wife has a 2010, these are made in Japan. Other than the normal services, nothing broke. It is a Honda. Your chance of getting your money's worth for the xtended warranty would be slim.

 

Just bought a 2012 sport with 46k miles. Got the HondaCare warranty extension to 2020 / 100k miles for $700.

 

I feel an extended warranty is a waste of money. With an extended warranty, you are betting (the price of the warranty) that you will need repairs. IMO, if you feel you need an extended warranty, you have no faith in the product and should buy one in which you do.
