Diff Question
Diff Question
i want more traction and figures a diff would do the trick. i was wondering though if i could just weld the diff because real diffs are too expensive and i am not sure if theres any viscous counterparts for this car.
so would a welded diff help me? lmk because i have a friend that can weld diffs with jb weld.

I'm from the good ol daze and we use to weld the gears in the rear end to make it a Possi rear end but there is no way JB weld is going to do the job that an arc welder will. Don't trash your dif and trans rethink and do more research. One day you'll laugh about the JB weld Diff
If you want more traction do it the right way and buy an aftermarket lsd. If you don't know how to install it, have it installed by someone who knows what they're doing. I really don't think JBweld is going to hold up to the torque in a transmission, granted we don't make a lot, I think its still too much for some JBweld.
Wow sounds like someone's trollin'.
On the other hand, if you are really serious, go to www.teammfactory.com. They have two types of LSD. Choose either their helical or metal plate (clutch type) LSD.
If you come up with welding the diff., ( I mean arc weld not JB weld), you'll probably send your transmission/stock diff. into oblivion when you do finally want to make a sharp turn. Do it right the first time and buy an LSD. Please.
Remember, pay your friend to weld your diff, cheap.
Your stock diff breaks and other things in you tranny breaks, you'll pay again your friend or someone to open your tranny, plus parts, or a new trans, say good bye to your money.
Buy LSD, pay for labor, nothing breaks, cheaper over all.
Good luck!!
