Giving up my FIT (to sibling), buying a new car...

My plans are within a years time, hopefully this summer though.

My fit isn't paid off yet, but I could have easily done so last year (my 2nd year of ownership since shipment from Japan) had it not been for some unforeseen financial circumstances.

Any recommendations for a male art teacher who's trying to catch the eye of his peers, but still keep some similarities in fuel efficiency?

ford fiesta ? is a small car it is suppose to have a really good handling, it look really good, ( if i didn't already have a cool small car i'll by one!) and if you a auto-tranny type of guy, it come with a sequential tranny 6-speed ( not a auto but a dual clutch transmission) BUT it's smaller than the fit, i don't think it is as pratical, Me i can't live without the cargo capacity of my fit.
but if you wanted bigger the new for focus is coming, i never tought in my life be tempted to buy Ford car but... two of my favorite new upcoming car are ford!

Next "Dream" Car

I'm really not loooking for a compact car or hatchback anymore... if it were a hatchback, it needs to be stylish and a magnet of feminine attention.

The type of vehicle I want is going to :
  • be a 2010 or 2011 version,
  • sport edition or luxury edition if there exists one
  • Four door
  • great performance
  • great or reasonable gas mileage
  • "TRICKABLE"
  • something I "fall in love" with over and over again...
  • not compact
  • great space for luggage/storage/transport of goods
  • great stock stereo equipment (Aux)
  • Stock GPS Navigation
  • comfortable seating

Any ideas? Some of my friends have listed the following cars thus far...
  • Nissan Maxima 2010/2011
  • 2010 Genesis (Hyundai?)
My price range is $35,000 (I'm on a teacher's salary... but in the DMV)

RX-8 has been brought up a few times today from ppl I've spoken with... not sure I'm quite sold on the total package based on my listed needs.

It is an eye catching performance car though...

I think a good fuel efficient car would be the new Mazda 2 with some type of sport package. But if you want a stylish compact hatch I guess your best bet would be a GTI although its not so fuel efficient. Maybe a rabbit or rabbit 5 door? That 2010 maxima looks sexy though, but not very fuel efficient I'm sure.

Isnt the 2011 WRX sedan supposed to get the STi wide body? It looks hot to me and I'm sure it would meet all of your needs and price range..but probably not fuel efficiency

Side note, I've just paid off my Fit (should have been done last year for 2 years, not 3.5) and have a potential hookup for a new car...

Let's just say for 35K I can get a car that a dealership would acquire brand new (not at the resale value but dealer value)

GTI there nice and really nice inside.
Evo eye chatching 4 doors
BMW 335 used If ur looking to just impress with a car.

Really though why buy a car to impress people?? Impress ur co-workers and woman with youre personality and character not what you drive. Sometimes people make me laugh with tying to do things in the wrong manner. Instead of buying a new car keep the fit with the extra money you would have spent on a new car why not see the world travel a bit. I have seen more differnt countrys than most people have been to states. Just my 2 cents but who really cares what you drive execpt you

Don't even think about it. The only good thing about it is Rotary engines can pump out more HP per cubic inch than any Piston engine on the market now. The problem is they'll eat plenty of gas and oil while doing it. I don't know why Mazda still plays with them now?

Most girls aren't impressed by cars anyway, so stop worrying about that.

Your want list could easily be satisfied by many new vehicles, including the F-150 Raptor.

Time to do the research and test-drive, test-drive, test-drive.

Good luck in your search.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

It's not that i'm SO MUCH or THAT concerned about what others think of me (really, IDGAF) but as I'm getting older I have also seen the upgrades in the few cars that I've had (for anyone wondering)
  • Ford Taurus LX 1996
  • Honda Fit 2006/Jazz 2000
I've driven several cars in general, but the MAIN MAIN MAIN thing I care about is MPG, space and then the looks... the New Ford Mustang 2011 has 31 MPG which just shocks me since the Ford Mustang GT i rented a few weeks ago killed me in the pocket with gas alone (drove 159 miles and half the tank was already gone before I could fill it up again).

I've created an MSXL spreadsheet of some cars and plan to continually update it as I research on features and other things mentioned...

Test Drove a 2008 Mercedes E-350 fully loaded yesterday... felt VERY different and nice compared to the fit.

But still not quite my cup of tea for the complete package and my current needs.
