Bought all 3 wiper inserts from Honda. The rear & passenger side wipers slid right in & clicked/locked into place.

BUT the driver side wiper won't click or anything... it just slides right back out the other side.

Maybe I mixed up the metal rods or something...

Please, SOMEONE help me.... it's raining real bad in Ohio right now

 

My guess is that the blade is defective, take it out and try on another window to see if you have the same problem... if not... your wiper is defective.

 

Match it with the one you took out, are they same?
Is the part number correct?
Take it back if the part number is not correct

 

They only slide in 1 way, do you have it upside down? I've installed hundreds of these things and I am certain that einstein77's theory about it being defective is not the case.

Yeah, it's the same exact thing I took off the car... and I don't see how a rubber insert would be defective.

I didn't pay attention when I took the metal rods off the original insert. Can anyone check to see how their metal rods are positioned? Like the notches cut out... do they face in or out... on the top or bottom of the blade? Maybe a pic?

I'm 99% positive that the notches in the metal rods face in towards the insert. There is a bump on the insert that matches the notches in the rods.

 

That's how I have the rods. But I don't see any notches on the originals or replacements.

 

I don't have a picture to help with this one. You should only be able to slide the insert in from 1 direction. If it wasn't so damn windy today I'd go take a picture.

 

Yeah... I can slide it in from either way... top/bottom, upside down, etc... nothing stops it from coming out the other side

 

Mine is the same, it does not lock into place. Also, I noticed that this "new" refill (76622-SLN-A01) is rather smaller than the one that initially came with the car.

 

Did my second wiper change (Since June 07) last month. None of the issues faced. Everything clicked in place.

Strange. Maybe its the other way around -- the wiper itself was different and not the blade which makes it sort of incompatible(?)

 

defective blade? try to put your old one back and see if it locks in place.

 

If it will help you in any way to compare, I have not discarded my second set. I can send it to you by snail mail. Postage on me and yes I do not want them back. (Do not use them as they were noisy/chatering) PM me your address if intrested

I'm having a hard time threading the new insert into the wiper, esp. the rear. Is there any particular technique required? I've tried to do it from either end, etc. Damn hard to keep the metal stays in place in the rubber insert, then thread the thing into the wiper.

Got the passenger's side done. Haven't tried the driver's side yet.
