Need to rubber on my Stock Fit.

What are you using to replace the dunlap P31's?

My goal is long life and Best MPG.
I'd also like a quiet ride. The Dunlap's have gotten loud!

Dunlap's will be done before 38,000 miles

I drove my stock tires up to 63,XXX(maybe 69,XXX but not sure) before I replaced them. They were still okay except for one tire on the rear that made a lot of noise and the rest are quiet but instead of replacing one I replaced 4 tires with Falken Ziex ZE 912 192/50/R15. I forgot the difference in loudness since I came from loud used tires and bought new ones. But I can say that the Falken is okay and I'm expecting to get at least 40000 from them if I continue driving the way I drive now. It's pretty quiet.

I went with lower sidewall since I can get it at a cheaper price. I think I can get better gas mileage with stock size, I should have gotten the 55 instead of 50. 50 series also throws the speedometer off by 1-2mph.

Also I forgot to add the tires that I have right now suck big time in snow but does an excellent job in wet condition.

I switched to these last fall. I love them, they stick like Velcro in the dry and wet. The wear like iron and are very quiet.

GoodYear GTs all season 195/60/15 from Tire Rack $ 67.00 apeice (with a $ 20.00 rebate on 4) through the end of the month. They are also a sticky & quiet tire with a good wet traction rating. Better MPG is a harder compound tire and the harder compounds are usally louder on the road with slightly less traction.

Sidenote: You can also check the weight of most tires now and that also will improve in the performance of the car and MPG.

Replaced mine with Goodyear Eagle GT's 195/55/15. Can't say much for anything else but they handle okay and they look sexy. :P

Did you notice any changes on mpg with taller side wall? I was going with 60 series but decided to go with 50 series instead.

Hey Black01,
The first 500 miles the milage went down till the tires were worn abit. Now I am getting very good MPG. I wanted to fillup the wheel opening with out lowering, We got kids and lots of stuff so the lowering thing isn't happening. In fact I added a pair of air shocks and can carry up to 1,500 lbs. now

I had some Kumho XS that I tested for autocross, so since we had them laying around I had them put on the fit. They are 205/50-15s.

They have immense, immense grip in the dry, I can take offramps much faster than I even could on the OEM times. They are so so in the wet, but if you don't drive crazy they are as good as most summer tires. They are a bit noisier but they only have about 400 miles on them thus far (I drove about 2 miles total during my autocross testing), but they are nice and they were only $400 for the set.
