Just "wasted" $130.

Okay, so I'm probably gonna really like them and everything, but . . .

06 07 08 HONDA FIT SMOKE JDM LED TAIL LIGHTS DEPO: eBay Motors (item 160435856191 end time Jun-16-10 13:39:55 PDT)

I SO don't have money to spend on stuff like this now. And I'm dangerously close to hitting submit on an HID projector order from theretrofitsource.com.

Cool. How annoying was the wiring? I'm hoping to be able to find enough slack to plug them in without extending anything.

They look good. I really like the aftermarket tails for the GD a lot better than for the GE.

Maybe - but I don't see a better deal anywhere else.

That's about right actually. Maybe you could do it for $20, but tails aren't cheap, and they're bulky.

I've definitely been thinking about doing this too but putting on hold. I am leaning towards doing the exhaust next but those look really sweet.

Please let us know about your experience both with the seller and the install! I've been drooling over these tails for a while and I think the wife might not scream too loudly if I get them.

Haven't received them yet, but they were shipped on 5/26 UPS Ground. Scheduled delivery on Thursday.

I should be able to get to the install pretty quickly, I need a break from all the work I've been doing on the audio.

Not a waste at all. LED tails are fantastic. You wont regret a projector setup from trs either. I just got mine installed about 3 weeks ago now. Driving at night is a whole different story.

You're kind of a hike from where I'm at, but I'd be willing to lend a hand to the retro install if you decide to do it.

Nice, go do it You'll never have to worry about burnt-out brake lights ever again.

These are how you do LED taillights IMHO, nice and large. The surface area on the GE ones isn't so impressive, just one tiny little LED quadrant up top. Not much of an upgrade from the JDM stock ones, which had a bigger area.

I have to admit, going LED is a heavy incentive . . . regardless of how sharp the new lamps look. No matter how infinitesimal it may be, I like the fact that my brakes will be lighting up faster than they had been - and using a fraction of the power as well.

Looking into LED replacements for all the other bulbs on the vehicle as well. It doesn't say in the ad, and I forgot to ask - do these use stock reverse & turn signal bulbs? Or are those LED as well?

Most of these aftermarket tails don't have led reverse and turn signal bulbs, I assume that would drive up the price pretty heavily. Mine came with halogen bulbs, but I have seen some that required you to use your stock bulbs.

Ah, figures. No biggie, LED replacement bulbs are an easy swap, and getting more affordable every day.

On mine, I used my stock reverse and turn signal bulbs.

No biggie really, brake lights are far more important. The faster they glow, the better.

To answer questions above:
Note: Two minor modifications needed 1) Factory wire harness is slightly short as the JDM tail light signal socket has been repositioned to the top - please undo the cable ties holding the harness to the chassis that should give you enough slack 2) The reverse light socket needs minor trimming to fit the US model sockets. These are totally buyer's responsibility, we recommend seeking professional for installation help.
This according to the seller. Re-using the stock bulbs shouldn't be an issue.
